with Rachel Barnhart
What are six things you could never do without?
BlackBerry, iPad, glasses, stick shift cars, Internet, True Blood
What's your favorite Twitter app?
Tweetdeck for desktop, Osfoora HD for iPad
Why should we vote for you?
I love Twitter. I work hard at Twitter. If you're in Rochester and follow me, you're informed and (maybe) entertained.
How do you make your tweets unique?
By tweeting unique information.
140 characters of advice for a new user?
Make lists. Use applications. If you're into sports, find your favorite athletes/teams/sports reporters. Same for other interests.
How long can you go without a tweet?
A couple hours (longer when I go to bed at night)
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
I'd like to see a way for people to make money on Twitter that goes beyond pushing your brand. Sponsored tweets would be great.
Who do you admire most for his or her use of Twitter?
Right now, my favorite entity on Twitter is @washingtonpost. I love the way the paper keeps the tweets interesting, doesn't just auto-feed.
What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That journalists abuse Twitter in the race to "be first." We still follow the rules for attribution and verification.
Why should people follow you?
I don't tweet a lot of "fill." You'll learn about Rochester and state politics. I also tweet other interesting news items with broad appeal.
Why'd you start tweeting?
My boss told me to. Didn't take long for me to fall in love.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Not only is Twitter a fantastic way to aggregate & consume news, it's given a whole new dimension to my job. I love interacting with viewers.
