How do you use Twitter in your professional life?
If by professional life you mean how we spend our days, then it pretty much informs every aspect of it. We use it to crowd source adventures.

Hootsuite... and twitpic... we couldn't share our travels as easily without the magic of twitpic!

Apples and Oranges... we like to make a fruit salad.

We're partial to #robotpickuplines

scratch & sniff... & Twitter polls. We used to use #'s to collect votes. Actually worked pretty well #alexandlukeND #alexandlukeSD etc.
Who do you wish had a Twitter feed but doesn't?
Luke's Stepmom. We could make a $1,000,000 blog with those tweets.
What are some words or phrases you refuse to shorten for brevity?
We try to avoid shortening whenever possible. That said it sometimes happens. 140 characters keeps our brains sharp... Like a puzzle!
Is there someone you want to follow you who doesn't already? If so, who?
hmmmm well if Fox Mulder were a real person and he had a Twitter account, we would enjoy his follow.
Have you ever unfollowed someone? Who and why?
We have unfollowed the odd person or company because of excessive tweeting... cannot think of one specifically.
Why should we vote for you?
We took Twitter and dared to do something new with it. Our aim was to use it to guide our explorations. It was the best thing we ever did.

What's the most interesting connection you've made through Twitter?
The best is when an entire population of twitterers in a state/province are connected with us as we travel through. Our favs? SD, NH, NT, NS!

It was #INDIANAalexluke - Had 50 more people used it when we launched it, but #KENTUCKYalexluke won.. so that's where we went!
How do you make your tweets unique?
We don't try to make our tweets or any of our content unique, we just strive to be genuine and full of curiosity and hope it translates.
What inspires you to tweet?
We're inspired to tweet so we can talk with our followers to see/do the things they love in North America.

Know what happens when you use an @ sign. If you start a tweet with a mention, it might not be as wide spread as you intended!
How long can you go without a tweet?
When we were on the road we tweeted about every decision we had to make. We're currently living at a hotel and tweet morning,noon,night!

Do you believe in the legend of the yeti and if so, do you think he would welcome Twitter into his life?
How do you imagine Twitter changing?
We like to imagine new ways of it being used, rather than Twitter itself changing... thats why we tried using it for exploration!

We admire @twitchhiker - he really set the bar high for using Twitter to travel.

What is one of the biggest misconceptions of Twitter?
That it cannot be used in a meaningful way. It's one of those things that you have to engage with to understand.
Why should people follow you?
So that they can inform our travels, hear our stories and be part of one of the most wonderful and genuine online communities there is.

How do you decide what to tweet?
We use Twitter primarily to inform our travel adventures so we tweet when we need guidance or to share something we have discovered.
Why'd you start tweeting?
We started tweeting before planning our social media powered road trip! We knew that it would be great for getting suggestions on the road.
Has Twitter changed your life? If yes, how?
Yes. We used it to control 9 months of our life, literally! It controlled what direction we went! Without it, we would still be in cubicles.
What do you wish people would do more of on Twitter?
Actively seek out conversation as opposed to waiting for someone to write @them.
How will the world change in the next year?
David Suzuki once said something about how continents and mountain ranges shift every year by a few millimeters... he's pretty trustworthy.
What are some big Twitter faux pas?
Ignoring the 140 character rule & posting tweet after tweet to finish your point. Steve Martin did it once & it was hilarious. You're not him
What will the world be like 10 years from now?
Not sure... but we hope we'll still be discovering it via Twitter and then Tweeting about our findings!
